Savannah Warriors (2021)

Natural History Short Film

Synopsis of the film

Savannah Warriors is a film about a tiny yet fierce warrior of the scrublands- The Fan Throated Lizard. It is the first ever film about the ‘Deccan Fan Throated Lizard (Sarada deccanensis)’, a species found in India.

It’s summer, the breeding season of The Fan Throated Lizard. The males run around and climb up elevations to flash their colorful fans, claim their territory, and impress the females around. They get desperate to attract the females and do not tolerate the presence of any other males in their territory. They would do anything to prove their supremacy, even fight with the intruding males. The males can fight to the death if that’s what it takes to emerge victorious. Prepare yourself to witness a lot of action and drama in this film!

Hunter in Disguise - Asian Ant Mantis (2018)

Short Wildlife Documentary

Hunter in Disguise is a short documentary from the ‘3-minute insecting series’, in which I introduce the viewers to various cool insects in our surroundings. This episode focuses on the Asian Ant Mantis (Odontomantis cf. planiceps), and showcases its astounding mimicry of ants for camouflage, how it survives, how it hunts, and its lifecycle in the wild.

Short Form Wildlife Documentaries

With the over bombardment of content on social media, we are now in the era of short form videos that are no longer than 1-2 minutes. Conveying an entire story in that short span of time while keeping it interesting is what hooks up the audience today. Check out a few short form wildlife documentaries that I’ve made.
